Four Acres Rally, Thornhill, Hope Valley 10-12 May 2024
This was a new site for the Centre, situated between Bamford and Hope. We had 21 units attend, with no cancellations. We welcomed visitors from the Nottinghamshire Centre and Cheshire Centre and non-centre members and lots of four-legged friends.
The weather was hot, hot, hot.... well it is about time we saw some sunshine. Whilst some ralliers enjoyed the weather on the rally field, others took to the hills with walks being done in all directions and of differing difficulty! The Peak sightseer open top bus was enjoyed by some, and we are pleased to see that there is a sightseer route which will go through Ashford-in-the-water - perfect for the July rally.
Although perhaps not as vivid as in other parts of the country, the Northern lights made an appearance on Friday night. Sadly most of the ralliers were asleep!!
On Saturday night, flag was followed by two quizzes. Pictures of Derbyshire and Name that Smell. Many thanks to the marshals Lyn and Kim for their creativity and time-input to set these two quizzes up.
With the rally closing at 4pm Sunday, many of the ralliers took the opportunity to get another walk in, soaking up the glorious countryside and weather.
