The Donington Park Farm House Rally has kicked off the 2024 rally programme with great success and has set the bar high.
It was well attended and the weather was dry and bright, with amazing blue skies which gave us beautiful sunsets and sunrises and was perfect for plane spotting!!
Following a relaxed Friday evening, Saturday morning saw refreshments provided in the hall and some games to play. TJ had a good trade at the Rally Buddy Tuck-shop, with Turkish Delights being a popular blast from the past.
A short walk away is the Bull's Head at Wilson, which was frequented by several ralliers, and the lovely village of Melbourne was the destination for others.
Later in the hall there were quizzes and music. A selection of photos follow!
Notes from Flag that was delivered by Denise Barber (Webmaster/Statistics Officer)
We rally here with kind permission of the Donington Park Farm House.
Our Past Chairman's Lesley Gregory with Dave and Nick Hilton with Kat are welcomed.
We have had 33 units attend, with no non-attenders and we have visitors from South Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Cheshire. We have two non-centre members, one of whom is a first time rallier – Eve Pinches and family. As always, everyone is very welcome to attend a Derbyshire Centre Rally.
We have a number of birthdays to celebrate – Lesley, Lynn, Chris, Sherry and Deborah.
Thanks were extended to the marshals Pete and Chris Long, with Glynn Hallam and Sherry Wilson.
The marshals this weekend have arranged tea, coffee and biscuits with games in the hall on Saturday morning, an envelope quiz and a Saturday night Social with quizzes and a disco planned.
Many of the rallies being held in the next couple of months are now full. Peak Rail still has around 10 spaces and is a great Winter venue as it has hardstanding and is in close to Matlock and Bakewell.
Please use the waiting list for any rallies which are full as we do get cancellations from time to time.
Rally closed at 2pm
PS Just as a special treat, for those of you (like me!) who didn't make it to the end of the night, here's what you missed ;-)
