Darley Moor Bonfire Rally

The Derbyshire Centre Bonfire Rally brought a fantastic turnout this year, with fifty nine units coming together for a weekend filled with warmth, laughter, and the iconic glow of a traditional bonfire night. Invites were sent out to neighbouring Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire Centres and members of Centres from further afield were also in attendance. Marshals were Dave and Amanda Smalley with David and Lesley Gregory.

One of the weekends highlights was the ‘Build a Guy’ competition. Kids and family members all joined in, piecing together some wonderfully creative, quirky, and impressive Guys. Each creation had its own unique style and personality, reflecting the imaginative spirit of our Centre members. This year’s entries did not disappoint, making the judging all the more challenging and what a fantastic time we had admiring everyone's efforts!

At dusk we lit the bonfire, which roared to life and cast a mesmerising glow over the field. As night fell, the marshals welcomed everyone into the events shelter with a helping of giant hot dogs, filled jacket potatoes and mushy peas. Nothing beats a hot, buttery spud on a cool November night.

The clear weather added to the night’s magic, making the sky the perfect backdrop for our excellent fireworks display. Bursts of colour and light filled the night, met by cheers and awe from the crowd!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable Bonfire Rally. We can’t wait to see you all again next year at Darley Moor for more good times and good company.
