Well what a weekend!
Thursday saw 25 arrivals, all sited by 2.05pm, in what felt like gale force wind. Undeterred by the weather, the ralliers took the opportunity to explore the local area and support the local economy, especially with a birthday being celebrated.
Friday we had 12 arrivals throughout the day and evening, and we were able to welcome ralliers to a much calmer, and at times sunny rally field. We were treated to a spectacular sunset. I nearly missed it - 5 minutes after I took this photo it has completely gone.
We had visitors from Nottinghamshire, Wiltshire, Yorkshire Mid West, Cheshire and Lancashire South Centres. We also had two new Derbyshire Centre ralliers.
Saturday defied all forecasts and was mostly dry and mild. An organised walk took place into Bakewell where the Carnival was taking place.
We then had a bit of a deviation from the planned timetable as England went into extra time and penalties.... with a win secured, quizzes and sticky bingo took place for the more hardy ralliers!!
On Sunday morning the heavens opened and we just managed to have flag in a short break from the rain. I don't think I have ever seen a rally field empty so quickly, and we were relieved that all units managed to get off the field safely.
Thanks to all who attended for making the weekend so enjoyable.
