Join us at this lovely location  in the stunning Hope Valley.  Thornhill is situated between Hope and Hathersage, close to Bamford and a short drive from Castleton and Ladybower Reservoir.  

The Hope Valley is a beautiful part of the Peak District, with the busy, picturesque villages of Castleton, Hope, Hathersage and Bamford providing plenty of opportunity for refreshment with a good selection of cafes and pubs.  There are fantastic walks in this area including Mam Tor and Win Hill, and the Derwent Valley Heritage Way route starts at the Lady Bower reserviour, before winding its way through the county to Shardlow, 57 miles away.    

There are bus stops close to the rally field from which you can catch a bus towards Castleton or Hathersage and there are train stations at Bamford, Hathersage and Edale.  

The Upper Derwent Visitor Centre is just 500 metres from the Derwent Dam and acts as a focus for the two million walkers, cyclists and tourists that make the journey into this beautiful valley each year. Cycle and mobility scooter hire, refreshments, and gift shop.

Ladybower Fishery and Severn Trent Water welcome fly-fishing, rowing boats can also be hired for fishing.

Nearby Bradfield has the distinction of being the largest parish in England, and stretches over into the upper Derwent valley. Bradfield

 actually consists of two villages. Low Bradfield continues its tradition as a farming community into the present day. High Bradfield is up on the hill, clustered around the church and the site of the old Norman castle, and overlooks Low Bradfield. It is an extremely attractive place with a fine old church, several notable old buildings, numerous cottages made of the local gritstone, together with the Old Horns public house and nearby renowned Bradfield Brewery.

Directions:

From Hathersage follow the A6187 towards the Hope Valley.  Go past the turning on the right to Bamford at the Petrol Station and continue past the Garden Centre.  Shortly after Thornhill Lane on your right, the entrance to the rally field will be on the right, highlighted by our usual signage.
